Money is not out there

During these uncertain times, many are wondering why the law of attraction is not working for them. Any attempt to manifest money seems to be futile no matter how much meditation, EFT tapping or visualizations they perform. You see, the law is always working but what people tend to struggle with is the quality of energy they put into it. One simple reason for lack of results is the focus of the person…they are directing their attention outside of themselves.

The source of money is not “out there” but inside. All things come from you and your mind first before it is created in the external world. Unfortunately, you are probably so conditioned to believe that things come to you instead of being created from you.

In order to manifest unlimited wealth, you must first recognize the power within you to create your own reality. Acknowledge that you have created your current financial circumstances and by doing so you can then believe that you can change your situation. The famous Wallace Wattles says to use your will toward yourself by directing your mind on what you want. This means that you should stop reaching outside to get it and pull your energy and focus inside so that the abundance can appear to you.

Of course, you must take action but the steps you take should never come from a place of grasping. As you hold the energy of need you are reinforcing lack in your subconscious mind. The only way to hold this vibration of unlimited wealth is to stop paying attention to what is in front of you and maintain the belief that you will get what you intend even if you cannot logically understand how it will occur.

That said, this is not something easily mastered as you have been conditioned to think just the opposite your entire life. With practice, you can get into the habit of holding the feeling of abundance and will see more consistent results. The good news is that even a slight adjustment can make an incredible impact on your financial future. Daily self-hypnosis is a powerful way to give your mind training wheels and shift the root of your thinking into the direction of success.

The cool thing about life is that you get tons of do-overs. No matter what pattern of thought you were stuck in yesterday or even an hour ago, you can begin creating a new future now. All of your desires are already a seed of potential inside of you, learn to find, nurture and watch the roots of prosperity grow from within. Money does not grow on a tree, wealth is cultivated in the mind.

    That is true.
Manifestation is possible beyond logical conclusions…and miracles happen this way…the method can be generalized in almost all life situations.

    Thanks for a great advice.

I always love your newsletters and there is so much great advice. This one, however, is too vague for me. For example, what exactly would this look like in practical terms:

“This means that you should stop reaching outside to get it and pull your energy and focus inside so that the abundance can appear to you.”

What do you suggest we focus on, if not the feeling or visual of money coming in to us? What is abundance inside of us supposed to look like? It’s hard to feel an abstract idea without some direction.

Chris, to put it more simply. Imagine in your mind what you want to create instead of trying to get it exclusively by taking action. Engage the feeling of what you think the abundance will give you. For example, some people want a sense of safety and security if they have enough money. So focus on imagining being safe and secure, not a care in the world – regardless of your current financial circumstances. That’s the hard part and that takes faith.

It is our natural tendency to believe in limited possibilities based on our past experience. So we look at our life and think this is as good as it gets. Then we strive and work hard out there to change it but inside we are feeling tense about our financial situation and it all feels like a big struggle. We keep getting the same thing because we keep holding the same desperate feeling.

So, shift your feeling/thinking mind to what you want to become – happy, at peace, joyful, safe – and you will naturally be drawn to people, events and circumstances that match what you feel like a magnet. It is much easier to attract money this way. We tend to get what we expect to happen. So expect the best and the worse and things flow more naturally to you, less work, less struggle. It takes about 30 days to shift your mind in a new direction so practice some form of hypnosis/visualization every day – you can tap in to a happy memory to engage the feeling to help with the visual. Your mind does not know the difference between what you are thinking and what is happening in the outside world so you are basically retraining it to believe something new. With practice, this gets easier and easier.

let me know if that answers your question. Thanks for your comment, I am sure some others may have had the same question.

If you want a fuller understanding of what Debra Berndt is talking about, please visit http://www.spiritworkscenter.com, look for the links on the left side of the page and click on “listen to talks.” You will then be taken to an mp3 player with a pull-down menu. Scroll down until you find the talk entitled “Creating Abundance,” presented by Dr. Harry Morgan Moses whom I think is the clearest and most insightful teacher in the field. Listen and you will form a clear understanding of why, as Ms. Berndt states in the beginning of her article, that techniques to effect change (Tapping and other outwardly focused methods sometimes do not work or only work for a short while. The real reason is that our experience is always detrmined by our Consciousness, the sum total of our awareness.

So, building a consciousness of abundance, i.e., coming to a point of realization that matter (the outward manifestation) is the effect rather than the cause that arises out of our habitual thought, beliefs and knowledge. The power is always in the meta or nonphysical reality. We have this power because we are expressions of the One or all-that-is.

That said, I still think it is difficult to change someone who has had a lack or poverty consciousness all of his life to that of an abundance or prosperity consciousness. If you look at people like the very wealthy who have always had the experience of abundance and have never known the experience of lack, they have a consciousness of wealth already ingrained in their psyche. They really have no conception within their consciousness to really understand poverty because they have never experienced it. Or someone like Donald Trump who has achieved a great deal of wealth with his real estate (hotels, etc.), he can come back from bankruptcy or the appearance of lack and achieve the same or higher level of wealth within a short period of time. It’s becase hee has a wealth consciousness. He literally doesn’t know how to be poor.

On the other hand, though I believe not impossible, it can be difficult to reverse the consciousness of someone who has lived in poverty all his life. Since one of the basic tenets of working with the Law of attraction is to have the feeling of whatever one is trying to manifest, in this case, abundance, someone who has been poor, does not have a framework with which to imagine the feeling.

But all is not lost — I do believe it is possible, just not as easy as presented by some LOA teachers and coaches in the field. I do believe a combination of a belief system that says that we are One with the Infinite, affirmative prayer, faith, visualization, and hypnosis can effect changing one’s consciousness, but that is where it has to start, not in the external world of effects.
